I saw one of these this afternoon, number 225 of 1000 at Team Mancuso Power Sports Southwest. One awesome looking Bonneville. TUP I took a couple photos but they didn't come out very good, the sun was playing fits on getting the photos and how they had it set up sucked for taking photos.

Bonneville T214
The Limited Edition Bonneville T214 celebrates the achievements of Texas-born racer Johnny Allen, and his record-breaking Triumph-powered Cee-Gar streamliner which, in 1956, set the first of many land speed records at the Bonneville Salt Flats by recording a two-way average of 214.4mph. The now-classic 1959 Triumph Bonneville was named in tribute to the Texas Cee-Gar team’s record-setting efforts.

The new Bonneville T214 Limited Edition pays homage to Allen’s remarkable land speed record achievement. The hand painted Caspian Blue and Pure White colour scheme complete with red and white chequer detailing echoes that of the 1956 Texas Cee-Gar, whilst the front mudguard shares the same white star motif from the nosecone of the streamliner. The shortened rear mudguard combined with blacked out wheel rims, handlebars, and rear suspension springs add to the authentic look which is complimented with red seat stitching detail and a smaller front headlight.

The Bonneville T214 will be limited to a total of 1000 bikes worldwide.

  • Limited edition Bonneville celebrating Johnny Allen’s 1956 land speed record set at Bonneville Salt Flats in the USA
  • Commemorates 100 years of land speed setting at Bonneville
  • Special paint scheme using the distinctive colours of Johnny Allen’s Texas Cee-Gar
  • Individually numbered 1000 unit limited production run

Wow this is very nice

I don't know; there's something about the star on the front fender and the mis-matched paint on the fenders that doesn't "light my fire", so to speak. I guess that I'm just showing my age, but I'd like to see the fenders done in a simple blue/white stripe or white/blue stripe scheme which would be reminiscent of the era that's being commemorated.

The "village idiot" does tend to live in another era, you know: Jim

Here's a photo of the Texas Cee-Gar which might help to explain the star on the fender.

Oh, I understood the significance of the star, but it just did nothing for me....................other folks will probably think it's very appropriate to the bike, but I just "can't get my head around it". As the old saying goes: "Each to his fancy, and me to my Nancy, said the lady as she kissed her cow".
